MS Amlin names Christiern Dart as CEO from January 2026

He brings more than 30 years of experience in international (re)insurance.

MS Amlin has named Christiern Dart as its next Chief Executive Officer, with the appointment set to take effect in January 2026.

Dart was most recently Group Chief Underwriting Officer at Brit, where he managed over £2b in underwriting capacity across a multi-line portfolio.

He brings more than 30 years of experience in international (re)insurance and has held leadership roles at Liberty Syndicates and CNA Re.

At Brit, Dart also served as Deputy Active underwriter and later Active underwriter for Syndicates 2987 and 2988.

He succeeds Andrew Carrier, who is stepping down after three years as CEO.

Under Carrier’s leadership, MS Amlin posted its strongest financial performance in over a decade in 2023 and continued to deliver solid results in 2024, the company said in a press release.

Carrier will stay on until the end of the year to support the transition before taking on an Executive Officer role within the wider Mitsui Sumitomo group.
