MS Amlin takes over MSI UAE risk through new reinsurance pact
The deal is run via the Dubai branch and targets bank clients needing contract frustration cover.
MS Amlin has launched a new reinsurance partnership with its parent company, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co. (MSI), to serve clients in the United Arab Emirates.
The arrangement is run through MS Amlin’s Dubai branch and provides contract frustration protection for MSI’s banking clients in the UAE.
The business will draw on MS Amlin’s specialist political risk underwriters. The insurer has more than 20 years’ experience in this line and has been operating in the region for over a decade.
Under the partnership, MSI’s UAE branch will continue to support its existing clients and target new business in the market. All risks written by MSI in the UAE will be ceded to MS Amlin.
MS Amlin began writing political risk in the region in 2025 following the appointment of underwriter Osama Elshiekh, with the account growing steadily over the past 12 months.
The partnership forms part of MS Amlin’s expansion plans in the Middle East, where it writes marine, casualty and crisis management business.
