NorthStandard expands S. Korea presence, boosts regional network

It also plans to recruit local experts familiar with the Korean shipping market.

NorthStandard expanded its presence in Asia by opening a new office in Seoul, South Korea, a year after its Asia Pacific headquarters was set up in Singapore.

The Seoul office, led by Claims Director Shang Doe Shim from the Singapore office, will start operating in late Spring 2024. This marks NorthStandard's eighth location in the Asia Pacific, emphasising South Korea as the company's largest market in Asia.

The Seoul office aims to enhance local services, particularly in claims support, complementing the existing support from Singapore and the UK, as well as from Korean correspondent Ins-Ship Aide.

The company said the expansion aligns with NorthStandard's strategy to strengthen its regional services, given South Korea's prominent role in global shipbuilding and ship ownership.
