Philippines reports state pension app surpassing two million users

GSIS said online enrollment has reduced processing time by 77%.

The Philippines’ Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) said its mobile app, GSIS Touch, has surpassed two million registered users, covering a large share of its more than 2.7 million members and pensioners.

The app is central to GSIS’s digital shift, with 99.6% of its services now online. Members can use the platform to access emergency loans and other services without visiting a branch.

Launched in 2020, GSIS Touch has grown into a full-service mobile platform featuring facial recognition for secure verification and a GSIS Digital ID to replace physical UMID cards.

Members can apply for loans, file claims, and track requests in real time. GSIS said online enrollment has reduced processing time by 77%.
