PhonePe launches insurance for Maha Kumbh Mela attendees

The plan is developed in collaboration with ICICI Lombard General Insurance.

PhonePe introduced an insurance plan tailored for travellers attending the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, from 13 January to 26 February.

The plan, developed in collaboration with ICICI Lombard General Insurance, is available in two variants: ₹59 per traveller for those using trains or buses and ₹99 per traveller for domestic flight passengers.

The policy offers coverage for risks such as hospitalisation, doctor consultations, outpatient treatment, personal accidents, loss of checked-in baggage, trip cancellations, missed connecting flights, and repatriation of remains.

Travelers can purchase the plan through the PhonePe platform until 25 February.

The coverage extends throughout their journey and stay at the event, which is expected to attract millions of devotees, the company said.
