
Ping An Insurance included in S&P Global’s 2025 sustainability list
It remains the only insurance company from China to be included.
Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd. has been included again in S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook (China Edition) for 2025.
It remains the only insurance company from China to be featured in the publication.
S&P Global reviewed 1,662 companies across 60 industries, selecting 164 for inclusion based on their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance.
For insurers, the evaluation framework gave 18% weight to environmental criteria, 33% to social impact, and 49% to governance and economic practices.
In 2024, Ping An’s environmental efforts included $8.13b (RMB58.6b) in green insurance premium income, a 57% year-on-year increase.
Its green loan balance reached $21.9b (RMB157.8b), up 13%, whilst green investments of insurance funds totalled $17.3b (RMB124.7b).
The company reduced operational greenhouse gas emissions by 8% and purchased 11,612 MWh of green electricity, avoiding approximately 6,800 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions.
It also conducted climate risk scenario analyses and developed transition plans.
