Prudential adopts Google’s MedLM to improve claims accuracy

It will use MedLM to analyse documents submitted for health insurance claims.

Prudential has adopted Google’s MedLM to improve accuracy and efficiency of medical insurance claims.

Starting in Singapore and Malaysia, Prudential will use MedLM to analyse documents submitted alongside health insurance claims, such as diagnostic reports, prescriptions and invoices.

MedLM has the ability to extract relevant information and code it accurately for claims. This will reportedly help reduce the potential for errors caused by manual data entry, so claims can be processed faster and more accurately, Prudential said in a press release.

Prudential is reportedly one of the first insurance providers globally to use MedLM.

MedLM is Google’s family of foundation models used for healthcare industry use cases. It is aimed for use by healthcare organizations to build solutions for doctors, hospitals, and other medical providers.
