Prudential enables online nominations through Sign with Singpass

The online service employs Sign with Singpass to generate Secure Electronic Signatures.

Prudential Singapore introduces online beneficiary nomination (online NOB) for its policyholders, making it the first insurer in the country to offer this service.

Starting from 15 March, nominations will be done utilising Sign with Singpass, eliminating the need for physical submission of forms. Policyholders can now conveniently submit their nomination forms and electronic signatures online.

Beneficiary nomination is vital to ensure that policy benefits reach intended recipients as per the policyholder's wishes.

Although not mandatory, making a nomination reduces delays and potential conflicts in payouts.

The online NOB service employs Sign with Singpass to generate Secure Electronic Signatures (SES), ensuring document authenticity and integrity.

Developed by the Government Technology Agency (GovTech) Singapore, Sign with Singpass enhances security and verification.

This initiative follows amendments to the Insurance (Nomination of Beneficiaries) Regulations 2009 by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in July 2023, allowing insurers to offer online nomination services from 2 January.
