Prudential lines up Flint as Vadera exits in 2026

The move follows Shriti Vadera’s planned retirement after six years of service.

Prudential plc has appointed Sir Douglas Flint as a non-executive director and chair-designate.

He will succeed Shriti Vadera, who is scheduled to retire from the board after six years of service following the company’s annual general meeting on 28 May 2026.

Flint will join the board in March 2026 to ensure an orderly handover.

Flint will also serve on the company’s nomination and governance and remuneration committees.

His professional background includes over 20 years at HSBC, where he held the roles of group finance director from 1995 to 2010 and group chair from 2010 to 2017.

Since 2018, he has served as chair for both Aberdeen Group plc and IP Group plc.
