Prudential reels in new group chief agency officer

He has over 24 years of experience in the industry.

Pankaj Banerjee has been named as Prudential’s new group chief agency officer and will begin his role on 30 September.

Banerjee will report to Lilian Ng, Managing Director, Strategic Business Group, and he will oversee Prudential’s technology-powered distribution strategy, with a focus on agency.

Based in Prudential’s Group head office in Hong Kong, Banerjee will coordinate with teams across its 24 markets in Asia and Africa.

Banerjee, with over 24 years of insurance management experience, has previously held senior roles at ICICI Prudential, Prudential Vietnam, and as CEO for Prudential Cambodia and AIA Sri Lanka.

He joins from his recent position as Chief Distribution Officer for Manulife Asia.

Prudential’s new strategy, announced in August 2023, aims to increase agency's new business profit by 2.5 to 3 times from 2022 levels by 2027.
