QBE Re appoints Cindy Foo as head of Asia treaty unit in Singapore

Foo has more than 20 years of experience in the reinsurance industry.

QBE Re has appointed Cindy Foo as head of Asia, Treaty, effective 1 December.

Based in Singapore, Foo will report to Abdallah Balbeisi, executive director of Europe and Growth Markets.

The newly created role is part of QBE Re’s plan to grow its treaty reinsurance business in Asia, with Singapore positioned as the regional hub.

Foo has more than 20 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, holding senior underwriting and client management roles at Berkley Re Asia, Asia Capital Re, Swiss Re, and Munich Re. 

She most recently served as Head of Underwriting and Branch Manager at Berkley Re Asia, where she helped build the firm’s regional portfolio since 2016.
