QBE Re taps 16-year veteran to run Greater China

The role is newly created.

QBE Re has appointed Sven Liu as head of Greater China, as the reinsurer steps up its expansion in the region.

Liu brings more than 16 years of experience across Asia and Europe, having held senior roles with global reinsurers including Munich Re and SCOR. 

He has worked across underwriting, client management, and business development, and is a multi-line underwriter with a track record in the Greater China market.

The role is newly created and will see Liu oversee portfolio management and growth opportunities across Greater China. 

He will be based in Singapore and report to Cindy Foo, head of Asia, Treaty, who joined QBE Re in December 2025.
