It is also launching its second Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP).

Insurance technology (insurtech) company, Qoala, appointed two new key leaders, Randy Lianggara and Yujun Chean, to its board as part of its regional strategy to expand in the region.

Lianggara, the Regional CEO for Asia at AVIVA, will join Qoala, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry.

His background includes overseeing operations at AVIVA Singlife Holdings in Singapore.

Chean, former Co-Founder & CEO of FairDee, an InsurTech firm acquired by Qoala in 2021, will assume the role of Group Chief Operating Officer. Chean brings over 20 years of expertise in strategy and team leadership.

Following its Series C funding round in March, Qoala is launching its second Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP). The programme aims to recognise and reward employees.

The company now operates across Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Since 2021, Qoala has significantly expanded, with Gross Written Premiums (GWP) growing over sevenfold and the number of agent partners increasing more than fourfold, it said in a press release.
