Randy Lianggara named Sun Life's president of emerging markets

He will also oversee the company’s joint venture with China Everbright Group.

Sun Life appointed Randy Lianggara as president of Emerging Markets, Asia, effective 1 November. 

In this newly established role, Lianggara will focus on driving growth across Sun Life's operations in key emerging markets, including Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia. 

He will also oversee the company’s joint venture with China Everbright Group in mainland China.

As part of his new responsibilities, Lianggara will join Sun Life’s Asia Executive Team and will report to Manjit Singh, president of Sun Life Asia. 

Lianggara has served as Regional CEO, of Asia, and Regional CEO, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam at Aviva. 

Prior to that, he spent a decade as CEO of AXA Indonesia, where he developed a strong track record in growing and leading insurance businesses in emerging markets.

Randy Lianggara holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Iowa State University and a Master of Business Administration from Golden Gate University in the US. He is also a certified financial planner, certified life underwriter, certified wealth manager, and a ChFC charter holder.
