
SBI Life insurance pencils 27% YoY profit surge in FY 2025

SBI Life Insurance posted a profit after tax of $289.56m (₹2,413 crores) for the year ended 31 March, 2025 (FY 2025), marking a 27% year-on-year (YoY) increase.
The company's New Business Premium stood at $426.92m (₹35,577 crores), down from $458.86m (₹38,238 crores) recorded a year earlier. Regular premium grew 11% YoY.
Focusing on protection products, SBI Life reported a protection new business premium of $49.14m (₹4,095 crores), whilst the protection individual new business premium reached $9.52m (₹793 crores).
The Individual New Business Premium rose 11% YoY to $316.32m (₹26,360 crores).
SBI Life reported a private market leadership in Individual Rated Premium, registering $232.25m (₹19,354 crores) with a 22.8% market share.
Annualised Premium Equivalent (APE) increased by 9% to $257.00m (₹21,417 crores). The Individual New Business sum assured rose 43% to $3,323.02m (₹2,76,918 crores).
The company's Value of New Business (VoNB) rose 7% to $71.45m (₹5,954 crores), with a VoNB margin of 27.8%.
