Sun Life creates new role, appoints Deng to lead Asia operations
He will join the Asia executive team and report directly to Manjit Singh.
Sun Life appointed Benjamin Deng as President of Asia Asset Management, a newly created role, effective 1 January.
Deng will handle asset management operations and strategy to support its insurance and asset management businesses across Asia.
He will join the Asia executive team and report directly to Manjit Singh, President of Sun Life Asia, and Steve Peacher, executive chair of SLC Management, Sun Life's institutional asset management division.
Deng previously served as Group Chief Investment Officer at Ping An Insurance, where he managed investments totalling $740b in assets under management (AUM).
He has also held senior investment roles at China Pacific Insurance Group and AIA.
