Sun Life Grepa premiums surge 79% as channels widen

The company said the first-quarter result was its highest in this category to date.

Sun Life Grepa Financial, Inc.’s first quarter 2026 (Q1 2026) total premium income recorded a 79% year-on-year (YoY) increase.

This growth was supported by its affinity marketing and bancassurance channels, which expanded the insurer's client base across various income levels.

New business generation saw a larger increase, with New Business Annual Premium Equivalent Income rising by 160% YoY, marking the company's highest performance in this category to date.

Management attributed this expansion to a deepening partnership with a strategic affinity partner to reach underserved communities, alongside the alignment of bancassurance programmes with its partner bank.

Richard S. Lim, President of Sun Life Grepa, said moving forward, the company intends to sustain this momentum through further integration of its bancassurance operations and deeper strategic partnerships.
