
Taiwan's life insurers see 22% rise in foreign policy premiums
Traditional insurance products accounted for 85% of the total.
Taiwan's life insurance industry reported $9.68b (NT$322.661b) in premium revenues from new foreign-currency denominated policies as of December 2024, reflecting a 22% increase from $7.91b (NT$263.752b) in the previous year, data from the Insurance Bureau showed.
Traditional insurance products accounted for $8.18b (NT$272.847b), or 85% of total foreign-currency policy sales, marking a 35% rise from $6.05b (NT$201.680b) year-on-year.
In contrast, investment-linked insurance products generated $1.49b (NT$49.814b), representing 15% of total sales, down 20% from $1.86b (NT$62.072b) in 2023.
