Thai insurance commission and insurers align on Health Link to streamline claims
The plan aims to reduce documentation and boost claims approvals.
The Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC) convened a joint meeting with the Big Data Institute (BDI) and over 68 insurance companies on 1 July to explore the integration of health data via the Thai “Health Link” platform, reported by news agency Money & Banking Online.
The meeting, chaired by OIC Secretary-General Chuchat Pramunphon, focused on how Health Link could be used to streamline insurance underwriting and claims processes.
Participants included senior officials from the OIC, Dr. Thanakrit Chintaworn from the Medical Council and BDI, Health Link project executives, Thai Insurance Business Council Chairman Sara Lamsam, as well as representatives from the Thai Life Assurance
Association and the Thai General Insurance Association.
The initiative is expected to reduce documentation burdens and accelerate claims approvals by giving insurers timely access to verified medical records.
