Claims paid for Japan’s hail-fall that occurred in Hyogo Prefecture last 16 April reached $356.2m (¥56.44b), data from the General Insurance Association of Japan (GIAJ) showed.
Coverage for damage to own vehicle had the largest share of 55.7%. This was followed by fire insurance (43.8%) and miscellaneous (0.52%).
In terms of accepted claims, the GIAJ tallied 122,152. Of the total claims, 119,238 were paid.
