Vietnam reviews draft laws on social insurance, trade unions
The deputy chairman demanded explanations for unaddressed issues.
In a meeting chaired by Vietnam’s Deputy Permanent Chairman of the National Assembly (NA), Tran Thanh Man, last 9 May, discussions focused on seeking the NA's opinions on the draft amended Law on Social Insurance and the draft amended Law on Trade Unions.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai had previously presided over a meeting to discuss salary reform based on job positions, highlighting the intersection between the amendment of the Law on Social Insurance and salary reform.
Man proposed that the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour and the Party delegation to the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour diligently implement the Conclusion No 3487 of the NA Standing Committee regarding the supplementation of documents submitted to the NA.

He stressed the importance of providing comprehensive explanations for unaddressed issues and actively seeking opinions from competent authorities.
Furthermore, Man instructed the NA Committee for Social Affairs to lead and coordinate with the Council of Ethnic Minorities and other relevant NA bodies to finalise the legislative project review report before submission to the NA at the upcoming seventh session.
This collaborative approach aims to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the legislative process.
