Zurich names Shukla to lead Asia-Pacific digital push

He takes charge of Zurich Edge the firms regional embedded insurance unit.

Zurich Insurance appointed Digbijoy Joseph Shukla (Digi) as head of Digital, Asia-Pacific, replacing Roopa Malhotra, who has moved to a senior executive role within Zurich’s Japan business.

Digbijoy will have overall leadership responsibility for Zurich Edge, the company’s regional digital and embedded insurance business.

Digbijoy brings over two decades of experience spanning entrepreneurship, technology, and digital ecosystems across Asia. 

Most recently, he served as CEO of two Carsome subsidiaries – iCar Asia and WapCar AutoFun – whilst leading M&A and ecosystem strategy including incubating & scaling a SaaS Venture within the Carsome Group. 

Prior to that, he spent nearly seven years at Amazon Web Services (AWS), rising to lead startup ecosystem business development across India and ASEAN, earning multiple awards for his impact.
