Zurich Takaful rolls out plan with payouts up to 12%

Only 58% of Malaysians are actively saving for the future.

Zurich Takaful Malaysia Berhad has introduced Takaful ProAspire, a new family Takaful plan designed to offer both protection and savings for Malaysians navigating rising living costs and growing financial uncertainty.

The launch comes as recent findings from Bank Negara Malaysia's 2024 Financial Capability and Inclusion Demand Side Survey reveal that only 58% of Malaysians are actively saving for the future—down from 67% in 2021. 

The data also shows that 61% of respondents cannot access RM1,000 for emergencies, while 31% are concerned about managing expenses in old age.

Takaful ProAspire provides flexible cash payouts of up to 3.5% annually or up to 12% every three years based on the Basic Sum Covered. 

Policyholders may direct these payouts to their bank accounts, selected institutions, or reinvest them with Zurich. 

The plan also allows top-ups at any time, offering liquidity while maintaining savings security.

Coverage includes benefits for death, total and permanent disability (TPD), and golden age disability (GAD). 

Additional payouts are available in the event of accidental death, including incidents occurring during Hajj or Umrah. 

Customers can choose coverage terms of 15, 21, or 30 years, with contribution options of five years or throughout the coverage term. 

Contributions may qualify for education insurance income tax relief, subject to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia’s final decision.

A loyalty reward is also provided in the form of a lump sum payment upon certificate maturity.
