Citi, Zurich Insurance launch customizable insurance proposition

Demand for insurance sold online almost doubled in September, the insurer said.

Zurich Insurance and Citi have teamed up to develop and launch the Zurich Lifestyle Insurance Plan, a flexible and customizable insurance proposition accessible through the Citi mobile app.

Customers have the freedom to tailor their protection and coverage to suit their lifestyles, according to a press release. The digital ecosystem integrates customers’ basic needs of living–including dining, shopping, entertainment, traveling, and wealth management.

The collaboration with Citi helps simplify customers’ insurance purchasing journey, Zurich said, in tandem with the rising demand for direct sales through online platforms. The insurer’s latest sales data showed that the number of new general insurance policies issued in September 2022 has nearly doubled (99%) year-on-year.
