HDI Global names Peter Schraa as head of marine in Singapore

Schraa is tasked with further developing the insurer’s marine portfolio in the city.

HDI Global, a corporate and specialty insurer, has appointed Peter Schraa as head of marine in Singapore.

Schraa brings over 20 years of experience working in Europe and nearly a decade in Singapore. He has held multiple senior underwriting roles within primary insurance companies, HDI Global said in a press release.

As head of marine, Schraa is expected to work closely with local underwriters in HDI Global’s Singapore office to further develop the insurer’s marine portfolio.

The insurer aims to better support brokers and clients in Singapore with tailored solutions that tackle the region’s evolving supply chain and logistics risk, HDI Global said.

HDI Global noted Singapore as a major maritime and trading hub in the Asia Pacific region, making marine a focus area for the insurer in the city.
