World Bank taps Ping An Insurance executive for investment lab

The lab is aimed at mobilising capital effectively to address climate change and poverty.

The World Bank has named Jessica Tan, Co-CEO of Ping An Insurance as part of its 15 founding members of the Private Sector Investment Lab,

The lab is aimed at mobilising capital effectively to address climate change and poverty. 

Tan has been recognised for her expertise and successful track record in business, technology, and finance. She is the sole representative of a Chinese company in this initiative.

The Private Sector Investment Lab’s primary objective is to attract greater levels of private finance, facilitate progress towards climate goals, manage climate change risks, and combat poverty. 

The Lab will explore ideas such as improved financing structures, risk allocation among investors, and forging new partnerships. 

Its initial focus will be on scaling transition finance in renewable energy and energy infrastructure. The Lab is set to commence its work in the coming weeks.
