HDI Global launches first complete ESG liability coverage worldwide

It was initially offered in Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

HDI Global, a corporate and specialty insurer, announced the international rollout of its Environmental Liability Insurance with added Social and Governance (S&G) coverage, driven by increasing regulatory demands and evolving ESG risks.

HDI Global said this makes them the first insurer to offer a complete ESG Liability coverage solution to clients and brokers globally.

Initially offered in Italy, Spain, and Portugal, HDI Global’s Environmental Liability coverage will now expand worldwide in 2025, supplemented by optional S&G coverages.

This ESG offering addresses realised risks within social (S) criteria and crisis management costs within governance (G) criteria, supported by a specialised ESG Risk Solutions Team led by Mark Appleton, head of Liability Global, who reports to executive board member Mukadder Erdönmez.
