Talanx to conclude partnership with Meiji Yasuda Life by 2025

Talanx can acquire Meiji Yasuda’s shares in two Polish subsidiaries.

Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance and Talanx AG have announced that their strategic partnership will conclude by 31 December 2025.

The decision activates the termination option in their original cooperation agreement.

As part of the arrangement, both companies have finalised the terms under which Talanx can acquire Meiji Yasuda’s shares in two Polish subsidiaries: a 24.3% stake in Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń i Reasekuracji Warta S.A. (Warta) and a 50.0% minus one share stake in Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń Europa S.A. (TU Europa).

The acquisition is expected to take place in early 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. Talanx anticipates the additional shares will contribute a mid-double-digit million-euro amount to its group result after accounting for minorities.

The transaction, with a purchase price in the mid-triple-digit million-euro range, will also allow Talanx to consolidate 100% of the earnings and dividends from Warta and TU Europa, enhancing the group’s earnings per share and return on equity.
