Asia-Pacific embedded insurance to grow fastest by 2035
North America still holds the largest global market share at 34.2%.
Asia-Pacific’s embedded insurance market will be the fastest-growing region by 2035, with an estimated compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.7%.
“Greenfield” digital economies such as India, Indonesia, and Vietnam will likely drive first-time insurance buyers through mobile-first platforms, according to a Market Research Future report.
Globally, the market reached $14.9b in 2025, and is projected to reach $19.4b this year.
The global market is also projected to reach a CAGR of 27.5% from 2026 to 2035. The European Union’s Insurance Distribution Directive revisions that explicitly recognise non-insurance platform distribution, and a wave of venture capital — over $4.2b deployed into insurtech infrastructure between 2023 and 2025 — that is building the API rails connecting carriers to digital checkout flows, the report said.
This infrastructure targets a massive market, as global e-commerce platforms processed over $6.3t in transactions in 2024.
Consequently, insurance firms are now actively competing to integrate their services into financial technology applications and ride-hailing platforms.
North America currently holds the largest share of the global market at 34.2%, supported by established digital retail networks and flexible regional regulations.
Europe holds the second-largest market share at roughly 24.5%, driven by open-insurance trial initiatives in the UK and Germany.
Over the next ten years, the sector is expected to move beyond simple checkout add-ons toward automated, highly specific coverage triggered by real-time events.
