Prudential appoints Naveen Tahilyani and Rajeev Mittal to key leadership roles
Both will carry the title CEO.
Prudential plc has announced the appointment of Naveen Tahilyani as Regional CEO for India, Africa, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, with added responsibility for the company’s Health segment.
Tahilyani will assume the role on 29 July and will be based in India. He will also join Prudential’s Group Executive Committee, reporting to CEO Anil Wadhwani.
This appointment follows the previously announced departure of Solmaz Altin, who is returning to Europe.
Tahilyani was most recently managing director and Chief Executive of Tata Digital.
He previously led Tata AIA as CEO for over seven years across two terms, and also headed AIA’s Group Partnership Distribution business in Asia.
He spent 17 years at McKinsey, advising financial institutions across the region.
Separately, Prudential has named Rajeev Mittal as CEO of its asset management arm, Eastspring Investments, effective 1 July.
Based in Singapore, Mittal will also report to Wadhwani and join the Group Executive Committee.
He succeeds Bill Maldonado, who is retiring and returning to the UK. Maldonado will remain an advisor until the end of September and continue as a board member of ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited.
Mittal brings over three decades of experience in asset management across Asia and Europe. He was most recently managing director and head of Asia at Fidelity International.
He also held senior roles at AIG and PineBridge Investments, including CEO positions in both Europe and Asia Pacific.
