Cambodian insurers grow Q1 gross premiums 6% to $102.3m

The industry’s financial income expanded 7% YoY to $11.9m.

Cambodian insurers saw their gross premiums in the first quarter of the year (Q1 2025) climb by 6.0% year-on-year (YoY) to $102.3m, data from the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia showed.

The quarter also saw net premium earned rise 6% YoY to $68.3m.

In terms of industry, the life insurance market's gross premiums increased by 4% YoY to $53.4m, whilst general insurance market expanded by 9% YoY to $48.9m.

Q1 2025’s gross claim incurred stood at $22.2m, which was a 34% YoY surge. Underwriting profit for the three month period, likewise, grew 6% YoY to $49.5m.

The industry’s financial income expanded 7% YoY to $11.9m.
