Igloo links with Telkomsel to provide gadget and screen insurance

In 2023, Indonesia saw 3,300 cyberattacks weekly.

Igloo has teamed up with Telkomsel to offer embedded insurance to more than 150 million customers in Indonesia.

Users can buy cover for cybersecurity, gadgets, travel, and phone screens directly through the MyTelkomsel app when topping up credit or data.

Premiums start from $0.01 (Rp200), with benefits such as $60.0 (Rp1m) protection against cyber fraud, up to $30.0 (Rp500,000) for gadget theft or damage, $12.0 (Rp200,000) for screen repairs, and travel insurance for medical costs and delays.

The move comes as cyberattacks rise in Indonesia, which saw about 3,300 cases a week in 2023, the highest in Southeast Asia.
