Allianz Trade appoints William Whittington to lead specialty credit

He joined the company in 2016 after starting his career at Lloyd’s of London.

Allianz Trade has named William Whittington as its new Global head of Specialty Credit & Mid Term, replacing Christophe White, who is leaving the Allianz Group. 

The appointment was announced on 6 November in Hong Kong.

Whittington, 34, previously served as head of Region, Specialty Credit & Mid Term at Allianz Trade in London. 

He joined the company in 2016 after starting his career at Lloyd’s of London, where he worked in performance management, emerging risks and research, and political risk and structured trade credit.

Since joining Allianz Trade, he has held several underwriting roles, including Assistant underwriter, Junior underwriter, Underwriter and Senior underwriter. 

His work has included assignments in Singapore, Paris and New York. 

He will remain based in London in his new global role.
