Inka Insurance rolls out NRI Shield for lower cost term insurance in India

Term covers can be 65% more expensive overseas compared to India.

Inka Insurance has launched NRI Shield, an advisory and support services for non-residents of India (NRI), persons of Indian origin (PIO), and overseas citizens of India (OCIs) to secure term insurance.

NRI Shield aims to guide overseas Indians towards insurance covers that could be 65% cheaper than those secured outside India.

For example, a 5-crore term cover can cost up to ₹78,450 annually in the UAE, whilst the same protection can be secured from India for as low as ₹27,808, Inka Insurance noted in a press release on 18 December 2025.

NRIs are offered digital onboarding and video medicals, with premiums paid via online accounts and eligible international payment channels.
