Sun Life Hong Kong floats new policies against coronavirus

They will be entitled to a waiting period waiver if diagnosed between 24 January to 30 April.

Sun Life Hong Kong has launched new measures to help clients fight against the novel coronavirus (nCov), according to a news release.

If a client is diagnosed with the virus from 24 January to 30 April, they will be entitled to a policy coverage including waiting period waiver, relaxation of 3A hospital restriction in mainland China, and reinstatement on lapsed policy if premium payment is delayed due to treatment.

They can also avail of a one-day pledge and first priority in claims, and fast claims through the Faster Payments Systems (FPS) will be made directly to clients’ Hong Kong bank account.

To be qualified, clients must present proof of diagnosis within 30 days of discharge. It is applicable to clients who selected FPS as their payment channel.
