Allianz Commercial India appoints new head of cyber security

She has more than a decade's worth of experience.

Allianz Commercial India named Shweta Gadia as head of Financial Lines & Cyber, last 23 September.

Gadia will be based in Mumbai and report directly to CB Murali, CEO of Allianz Commercial India, with additional reporting to Jenny Wilhelm, Regional Head of Financial Lines, Cyber, and Distribution for Allianz Commercial Asia.

In her new role, Gadia will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for Financial Lines, Cyber, and Tech Professional Indemnity in India, whilst supporting the global Line of Business (LoB) strategy. 

She will also manage the local portfolio and oversee underwriting staff.

With 14 years of experience in the insurance sector, Shweta brings expertise in specialty and casualty lines. 

Her prior experience includes business development, underwriting, and placements of complex liability risks. 

Before joining Allianz, Shweta was Deputy Vice President at HDFC ERGO General Insurance, where she led the growth of the liability business in Western India, including managing Cyber, Venture Capital, Mutual Fund Asset Protection, and Directors & Officers insurance. Gadia’s career also includes roles at Tata AIG General Insurance and Mahindra Insurance Brokers.
