Allianz General cuts travel insurance costs for holiday season

Nearly a quarter of domestic flights in Malaysia faced delays from January to August.

Allianz General Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad is offering a limited-time 20% discount on travel insurance for last-minute travellers this holiday season. 

“When you book your holiday, make sure to factor in the cost of things going wrong. A mistake a lot of travellers make is to skip on travel insurance, which costs just a tiny fraction of their holiday,” said Sazali Rahman, deputy chief sales officer of Allianz General.

As travel increases, recent statistics have highlighted operational issues within the airline industry: between January and August this year, 61,014 of the 258,116 domestic flights, or roughly 24%, faced delays. 

Contributing factors include commercial issues like low load factors, operational challenges such as crew shortages, as well as weather conditions, air traffic control issues, and technical malfunctions.

Until 30 November, customers can apply the promo code “HOLIYAY20%” when purchasing an Allianz Travel Care or Allianz Travel Easy (Single Trip Coverage) policy to secure this discount. 

The coverage includes key benefits such as accident-related death and permanent disability, medical expenses, trip cancellation, personal luggage and effects, and delays. Customers can obtain policies directly online or through an authorized Allianz agent.
