Allianz General expands financial cover for SME and foreign worker policyholders

SMEs facing forced closures of over 48 hours can get up to MYR20,000 ($5,100).

Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad is offering complimentary financial assistance to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) facing unexpected business closures, and complimentary coverage for foreign workers.

Allianz’s Foreign Workers Hospitalization and Surgical (FWHS) policy issued between February to December 2026 will include a complimentary one-year group personal accident coverage. It offers up to MYR10,000 (over $2,500) for accidental death and permanent disablement.

Corporate policyholders with an active Allianz Business Shield, Standard Fire, or Commercial Fire policy will receive a one-off financial support of up to MYR20,000 (about $5,100) if a covered event under the policies causes the insured premises to close for 48 hours or more.

“We are proud to offer financial assistance to businesses facing closures of 48 hours or more due to unexpected events, alleviating the burden during difficult times,” said Sean Wang, CEO of Allianz General.

SMEs contribute nearly 40% to national gross domestic product (GDP) and employ almost half of Malaysia’s workforce, according to Allianz General.

The new financial support schemes aim to safeguard both assets and people against unforeseen challenges, it added.
