Allianz unveils CAReS platform to assess climate-related risks
Global losses from climate-related natural catastrophes reached $327b in 2024.
Allianz Commercial has introduced a new data-driven platform, Climate Adaptation & Resilience Services (CAReS), aimed at helping businesses assess and manage the increasing risks posed by climate change.
The launch comes as global losses from climate-related natural catastrophes reached $327b in 2024, with insured losses accounting for $138b.
Developed with input from Allianz clients, CAReS enables companies to identify and evaluate exposure to 12 climate-related perils.
This includes floods, tropical storms, drought, and wildfires, across four time horizons: present day, 2030, 2050, and 2080.
The tool provides location-specific risk scores and financial loss projections, helping firms assess their own operations, new investments, and supplier networks.
The platform combines climate data with tailored risk consulting from Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) and is designed to support strategic decision-making and future-proof operations.
CAReS marks the first of several new solutions ARC plans to roll out this year under its updated resilience-focused strategy.
