Allianz unveils on-the-go charging coverage for EVs

Emergency charging service rangers are also available in the Klang Valley.

Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad (Allianz General) introduced a new insurance coverage for electric cars under the Private Car Comprehensive policy.

The Allianz EV Shield includes industry-first coverage for on-the-go charging, addressing concerns of EV owners facing battery depletion.

The Allianz EV Rangers, a pioneering service operating in the Klang Valley, offers on-the-spot charging to cover the range to the nearest charging facility.

“For example, if you are out of battery on the way to catch a flight, our Allianz EV Rangers will zip to you, charge your EV battery enough and set you on your way.” Allianz Malaysia CEO Sean Wang commented.

The rangers will respond to customers' needs, charging their EV batteries to continue their journey, even in emergencies.

Benefits of the Allianz EV Shield include coverage for losses or damages due to fire, theft, and natural causes to wall boxes, as well as coverage for portable charging cables.

Additionally, customers are provided compassionate cover for mishaps occurring during public EV charger usage, covering repair costs or medical expenses in case of damage or injury.
