Aon names Dando to lead GBC broking

The appointment takes effect on 1 July with Dando reporting to Helene Madell.

Aon plc appointed Steve Dando as Chief Broking Officer for Aon’s Global Broking Centre, the firm’s wholesale and specialty broking business, effective 1 July. 

Dando will report to GBC CEO, Helene Madell.As Chief Broking Officer, Dando will set the broking strategy for the London-based GBC, strengthen market connectivity and lead Aon’s integration of analytics, capital and global expertise to deliver innovative risk transfer solutions for clients. 

In partnership with Aon teams around the world, the GBC provides insight-driven risk transfer advice, advanced placement solutions, proactive market insight and claims expertise to drive enhanced outcomes for clients. 

Dando most recently served as CEO of Aon’s Strategy and Technology Group and Inpoint across the UK and EMEA, where he led approximately 350 colleagues spanning advisory, analytics and portfolio strategy. 

Prior to joining Aon, Dando served as global head of Broking at The Ardonagh Group, where he built and led the firm’s broking and carrier management strategy. He has also worked at other industry brokers.
