bolttech partners GSMA to guide telcos on embedded insurance growth

The market is projected to reach $703b by 2029.

Insurtech firm bolttech, together with GSMA’s Mobile World Live, has published a whitepaper on how mobile network operators (MNOs) can expand into embedded insurance to generate new revenue streams.

The report, Embedded Insurance for Telcos: How MNOs Can Unlock a Huge Revenue Opportunity, highlights that the embedded insurance market is projected to grow from $156b in 2024 to $703b by 2029.

It says telcos can leverage their customer reach to go beyond device protection and move into lifestyle and digital insurance categories such as travel, smart home and cyber protection.

The paper outlines the advantages telcos hold in distribution, the barriers they face – including regulation and IT integration – and how bolttech’s “telcosurance-in-a-box” platform can help overcome these challenges.

It also features case studies from Taiwan Mobile, Singtel and MasOrange.

bolttech said its proposition combines regulatory expertise, single API integration and a white-label Protection Hub to allow operators to quickly launch and manage multiple products.
