Fusion Specialty gets new managing partner for APAC

Steven Harwood has over 11 years of experience covering W&I, Tax Indemnity, and contingent liability risks. 

Fusion Specialty has appointed Steven Harwood as Managing Partner, M&A, Fusion Asia Pacific (APAC). 

Harwood will lead the Fusion M&A Team in the APAC region, overseeing operations from New Zealand to India.

With over 26 years of expertise in transactional liability risks, Harwood brings a wealth of experience to Fusion. 

His diverse background as an ex-Royal Navy officer, London-based reinsurance broker, and English-qualified lawyer uniquely positions him for success in the specialty insurance sector.

Fusion aims to leverage Harwood’s extensive knowledge and skills to enhance its presence in the region, aligning with its commitment to providing innovative solutions and expanding its footprint in the specialty M&A insurance sector.

According to Fusion, Hardwood is recognised as one of the most experienced underwriters in APAC, with approximately 11 years of experience covering Warranty and Indemnity (W&I), Tax Indemnity, and contingent liability risks. 

He has underwritten various transactional liability products across multiple jurisdictions, including Japan, Singapore, UAE, Mauritius, Netherlands, Australia, and Korea. 

Harwood has a solid reputation as a market authority on contingent liability risks, including litigation buy-out risks, making him a sought-after underwriter for Asian brokers expanding into this area.
