H1 profits of Samsung Fire & Marine climb nearly a third from last year’s

It climbed 27.4% to KRW1.2t.

South Korean insurer Samsung Fire & Marine saw its January to June net profits surge 27.4% year-on-year (YoY).

It reached KRW1.2t for the period, versus the KRW954b in the same period last year.

Revenues saw an 8.3% climb to KRW7.5t, whilst investment income rose 11.2% to KRW2.1t.

However, claims and expenses saw an incremental increase of 6.3% (to KRW6.3t) and investment expenses went up 5.9% (to KRW1.8t).

Its total operating profit amounted to KRW1.6t, or 25.2% higher than the first semester of 2022.
