HSBC taps Ed Moncreiffe as CEO of Global Insurance
He replaces Greg Hingston, who is leaving the firm to explore other opportunities.
HSBC has announced the appointment of Ed Moncreiffe as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Global Insurance, effective immediately.
Moncreiffe assumes the role previously held by Greg Hingston, who has decided to pursue opportunities beyond HSBC.
Nuno Matos, CEO of Wealth and Personal Banking at HSBC, expressed his confidence in Moncreiffe's ability to lead the global insurance business.
"We will build on our recent investments in HSBC Life to capture new opportunities in Hong Kong and supercharge growth in mainland China, Singapore, and India whilst continuing to deepen penetration in the UK and Mexico,” he said.
“We have an exceptional opportunity to not only increase the contribution of insurance to our overall wealth business but more importantly, to fortify the resilience of our customers,” Matos added.
