
LIAM names AIA’s Ben Ng as new industry association president
He succeeds Raymond Lew, who served as President, Vice President for over 5 years.
The Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) has appointed Ben Ng, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Bhd., as its new President.
Vibha Coburn, Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Insurance Berhad, was elected Vice President during the association’s 51st Annual General Meeting held on 26 March.
Ng succeeds Raymond Lew, who served as LIAM President and Vice President for over five years.
During his tenure, Lew played a key role in driving industry initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
Ng has over 30 years of experience in the life insurance industry, including 22 years overseas.
He is one of the few Asian actuaries to hold both Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designations.
Coburn also brings more than 30 years of experience in banking, insurance, and consulting across multiple regions.
She joined Manulife in October 2020 and previously held the role of Chief Regional Distribution Officer for Manulife Asia, where she led agency expansion efforts that elevated the company’s MDRT global ranking.
