Lloyd's forms coalition to boost diversity in insurance
It includes eight market firms.
Lloyd’s, an insurance and reinsurance marketplace, has unveiled the formation of the Inclusive Futures Coalition, comprising eight market firms and three delivery partners.
This coalition will support the Inclusive Futures programme, aimed at enhancing the participation and progression of Black and ethnically diverse individuals from education to executive roles.
The coalition includes Arch, AXA XL, Beazley, Chubb, Hiscox, Howden, MS Amlin, and Tokio Marine Kiln, along with partners Equity, Green Park, and the Lloyd’s of London Foundation.
Starting September 2024, Lloyd’s of London Foundation, in partnership with the Cowrie Foundation and Black Heart Foundation, will offer bursaries for Black and ethnically diverse students pursuing degrees in risk and insurance-related fields. Applications open in the early summer of 2024.
Equity will help create a talent pool of top-quality early career candidates from diverse backgrounds, providing pre-assessment, market familiarisation, and interview coaching.
Green Park will develop a talent pool for board-level candidates, preparing them for executive roles. Founding coalition members will have priority access to these candidates and executive search consultancy services.
These initiatives will be supported by a mentoring and sponsorship programme starting in September 2024, connecting bursary recipients and early career talent with sponsors from coalition member firms.
