Manulife’s Asia unit records earnings rise in Q3 2025
Annualised premium equivalent (APE) sales rose 5% to $1.45b.
Manulife’s Asia segment saw its net income attributable to shareholders climb 7% year-on-year (YoY) to $649m, whilst core earnings rise 29% YoY to $550m in the third quarter (Q3 2025).
The company said the performance was driven by business growth, favourable impacts from its annual assumption review, better insurance experience, and a release of expected credit loss provisions compared with an increase in the same period last year.
Annualised premium equivalent (APE) sales rose 5% to $1.45b.
New business contractual service margin (CSM) increased 18% to $516m, whilst new business value (NBV) grew 7% to $490m.
Manulife said the gains were supported by higher sales volumes in Asia (excluding Hong Kong and Japan) and an improved product mix.
