Markel Singapore hires new trade credit and political risk underwriter
This will bolster the firm’s underwriting capability in Asia.
Markel International, a subsidiary of the Markel Corporation (NYSE: MKL), has appointed James S. Guardino as a trade credit and political risk underwriter.
Guardino will be based in Singapore and will report to Nicholas Davies, senior underwriter for trade credit and political risk at Markel International in Asia.
Guardino has over 10 years of experience working in the insurance industry and has previously held roles at Aon and Texel Asia Pte Ltd. He will be working closely with the global trade credit and political risk team to help existing clients and develop business across Asia Pacific and the wider Markel business.
In line with growing business in Asia, the appointment will help to boost Markel’s underwriting capability in the trade credit and political risk landscape within Asia.
