MS Amlin expands APAC reach with three new underwriters
This follows the recent expansion in the region, including its new Australian branch.
MS Amlin has hired three new reinsurance underwriters as it expands its Asia Pacific (APAC) operations.
In Singapore, Darren Toh joins as Senior Underwriter on 6 October from Nephila Capital, Markel’s reinsurance arm in Bermuda.
He will report to William Ho, CEO of MS Amlin APAC, and focus on the property catastrophe portfolio.
Yosuke Yasuda, former head of Casualty for Asia and China at Aon, joins as senior underwriter on 13 October.
He previously spent 17 years at Swiss Re and will also report to Ho.
Amirul (PJ) Ashraf, formerly of Malaysian Re, will start as underwriter on 5 January 2026, reporting to Ee Voon Teh.
The appointments follow MS Amlin’s recent expansion in the region, including its new Australian branch and the appointment of Matt Botfield as head of Australia and New Zealand.
